Stewarding God’s Gifts

“Everything that we have is a gift from God. What we do with those gifts – time, talent and treasure – are our gifts back to God.”

Giving Time or Talent

St. Maurice offers each of us many opportunities to share our time and talent with others. Please prayerfully consider taking a step forward beginning, or increasing, your participation in one of our many pastoral ministries or volunteer activities organized by the Parish or School.

Giving Treasure (Weekly Offertory)

Your offertory contribution helps our Parish meet its budget and pay the bills. Using the envelops regularly helps the Parish Office keep good records and provide you with accurate tax receipts. Thank you for giving generously.

Parish Share

The Parish Share fundraising campaign is held each year during the Lenten season. Like every parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, St. Maurice is required to meet an annual assessment that helps cover the cost of the operations of the Diocese and its critical programs for parishes. Every Dollar raised over our Parish Share goal stays at St. Maurice to help us meet particular Parish needs. Please participate generously.

The Angel Fund

If you would like to make Catholic education possible for children whose families cannot afford tuition, consider making a gift to the Angel Fund. Your gift will help make a East Catholic School education possible for a needy child.

If you are interested in making a monetary donation please make your check payable to: St. Maurice Parish and mail it to:

Other Ways to Give

There are many ways in which you can support St. Maurice, including a bequest made to the Parish or School. For example, you can designate a specific amount of money or a percentage of the total value of your estate. If you prefer, the Parish or School may be named recipient of specific term such as bonds, stocks, and personal property such as improved or unimproved real estate. You might also choose to leave a trust fund. The income from the trust is paid directly to your survivors. Upon the death of the last designated survivor, the principal amount of the fund becomes the property of the church.

Remembering St. Maurice in Your Will

When you designate a general purpose bequest to St. Maurice, you enable the Pastor to apply the amount or any part of it where it might be needed most. It is important to secure an attorney in preparing your Will. In discussions with your attorney, it may be helpful to refer to the following text. Since there are various ways of providing for a bequest to the church, he or she may want to consider the following approach. For example, a bequest might read:

“I give, devise and bequeath to St. Maurice Parish, Forest Hills, PA, Catholic Church of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the sum of $__________” (or otherwise describe the gift or specify a percentage of the estate).
