Thank You: I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful birthday cards and wishes that I received a few weeks ago. It is deeply appreciated. Unfortunately, due to my recent illness I wasn’t able to even get around to opening everything I did receive. But, I’m looking forward to doing that soon!
Thank You # 2: I also am still in the process of opening all the cards that were sent to me while I was in the hospital. Thank you so very much for thinking of me and most especially praying for me! At this time there are still some tests being run to get to the bottom of my medical problem but all the ‘bad’ stuff has come back negative. Let’s continue to pray that keeps up. I’m also hopeful that the medication that I’m on will begin to work soon and that my health and energy soon return. Thank you for all your continued prayers and support.
The Week of June 18-23: Mission Week: As you know, this year our youth are participating in a Mission Week experience along with three other churches in our diocese. They will be heading into Lawrence and Beaver counties to assist people in need and social service organizations that are short staffed during the summer. It is my intention to be with our young parishioners for that week. However, my health might not allow me to do that. Still, I wanted to give you all a heads up that the plan is for me to be away from the parish that week and serve as both a chaperone and the chaplain for Mission Week.
Parish Festival: Upon arriving at St. Maurice last summer I was asked to consider holding the parish festival for 3 days instead of 4. I know that change is stressful and we have experienced a lot of it this past year; however, the reasoning I was presented was sound and I decided to make the move. Now the festival is upon us and I hope you are as excited as I am. We have great food and wonderful entertainment lined up. I anticipate having a great turnout and I’m looking forward to having some relaxing time with all of you. Now we need to pray for three days of spectacular weather. Please, if you are able, don’t forget to assist with important steps like setup (Sunday, June 11, at 4:00 PM) and tear-down (Sunday, June 18, at 9:00 AM). Your involvement in this parish/community event is greatly appreciated. May God abundantly bless our festival.
