Opportunities for Families
St. Maurice has many special programs and activities to meet the needs of parents and children, helping you and your family grow together in God’s love.
Baptism is a time of family joy. Parents are asked to participate in a Baptism Seminar on the meaning and rite of the Sacrament of Baptism and a discussion of Catholic family life. Lay Parishioners host the seminar on the first Sunday of each month. Please register by calling the Parish Office.
The Children’s Choir, comprised of children in grades three through eight, occasionally provides music for various parish liturgies.
Liturgy of the Word (for Children)
Every Sunday during 10 a.m. Mass, children ages four through seven are invited to participate in the Liturgy of the Word for Children. They participate in Scripture readings and hear God’s message in a caring and age-appropriate setting. Leaders are parish adults and teens.
The Religious Education/CCD program provides religious education, faith formation and sacramental preparation for children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade who attend public and non-parochial schools. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from mid-September to the beginning of May.
Vacation Bible School
St. Maurice will not be having Vacation Bible School this summer. We are recommending that anyone interested send their child to St. John Fisher’s program. Their program is for children from the community age four through those having completed 4th grade. It will run from Monday, June 18 thru Friday June 22, 2018 from 9:00 AM until Noon. Please contact St. John Fisher’s parish office at 412-241-4722 for more information.
